Proefnotitie
Deze zes jaar gerijpte bordeaux is luchtig en open, maar tegelijkertijd diep, met aroma’s van zwarte kersen, cassis en pruimen, aangevuld met hints van grafiet, zoethout, cacao, kruiden en een vleugje munt. In de mond is de ‘Le Plateau’ sappig en krachtig, maar zeker niet zwaar. Levendige zuren en fijnkorrelige tannines geven het geconcentreerde fruit structuur en frisheid. Een genuanceerde, energieke margaux met minerale grip, kruidige diepgang en een lange finale.

The 2020 La Plateau, from vines on the Soussans plateau, is a powerful, explosive wine endowed with tremendous energy and depth. Dark cherry, plum, graphite, leather, licorice, espresso and gravel all saturate the palate. Deep and vibrant to the core, the 2020 positively pulses with energy from the very first taste.

Decanter
Perfumed on the nose, aromatic and open - beguiling. Juicy and plush with a nice balance of vibrant, well-integrated tannins, fruit forwardness, fresh acidity and overall weight. Nicely structured with width and density - feels a touch serious at this point with liquorice, dark black fruits and minty touches - all with bite and tang. Lean but nuanced and detailed. The most compelling and complete of the terroir range.

De wijn
Deze wijn is afkomstig van diepe, zandige grindbodems bij Soussans in het noorden van Margaux en is een van de drie terroircuvées die Durfort-Vivens in 2019 introduceerde. De ‘Le Plateau’ 2020 bestaat uit 52% cabernet sauvignon en 48% merlot. Twee derde rijpte in amforen van klei en een derde in barriques, waarvan slechts 10% nieuw was. Het wijnhuis is biologisch en biodynamisch gecertificeerd.
