Licht rookachtige en geconcentreerd mineralige tonen in de neus maken de 'Steinberg' vanaf het begin tot een bijzondere riesling. In de mond volgen appels, peren, kweeperen die de markante mineraliteit harmonieus aanvullen. De fijne, evenwichtige zuurstructuur leidt naar een lang aanhoudende afdronk. Een VDP.Grosses Gewächs dat door zijn individualiteit zeker indruk maakt op elke riesling-fan.

The 2022 Riesling NiederhäuserSteinberg Grosses Gewächs comes from the site neighboring the Kupfergrube. This GG is from the oldest parcel, 45-55-year-old Riesling, fully south-facing. Yeastiness, for now, takes hold of the nose. However, the palate tells the real story. It is austere, lemony and taut. A pithy astringency coats the mouth, which is very slender and stony. The mouth waters with that pale lemon-juice freshness that seems to sink deeper and deeper into the stone. Yes, the impression is stone and lemon, simple and not simple at all.
