Proefnotitie
In een lichte citroengele kleur schittert deze sauvignon blanc in het glas en ontvouwt hij een gelaagd bouquet met subtiel rokerige tonen, weidekruiden en een vleugje munt. In de mond presenteert hij zich koel, precies en elegant, met een zuivere fruitexpressie, kruidige nuances en een uitgesproken minerale diepgang die blijft nazinderen in de lange, complexe afdronk.
Lekker bij: zeebaars met venkel en citroen, geitenkaastaart of asperges met kruidige hollandaisesaus.

Medium greenish yellow in colour with silver reflections. On the nose, a multi-faceted bouquet with aromas of cassis, ripe gooseberry, and subtle hints of candied orange zest, underpinned with some passion fruit. The palate is complex, and full-bodied, with an elegant texture, fine fruit, well-integrated tannins, and fine yellow tropical fruit on the persistent finish, already drinkable, has the potential for ageing.

Compared to the regular Prössnitzberg, the 2022 Ried Pössnitzberg GSTK Alte Reben Sauvignon Blanc is significantly finer and more subtle on the nose, which is deep, fresh and aromatic, reminiscent of ripe stone fruit. It is dense and juicy on the palate, with a tightly knit structure, ripe acidity, spicy notes and lingering fruit intensity and length. This is well-balanced, with plenty of melt and expression. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork.

Gegrilde vis en zeevruchten – begeleidt ook uitstekend de verfijnde Aziatische keuken en zoetzure gerechten.
De wijn
De wijngaard Pössnitzberg in Zuid-Stiermarken bestaat voornamelijk uit op het zuiden gerichte hellingen met oostelijke en westelijke uitlopers. De hellingsgraad kan oplopen tot wel 75%. Na de arbeidsintensieve handmatige oogst wordt de sauvignon blanc traditioneel met natuurlijke gisten vergist en rijpt hij 24 maanden in grote eikenhouten vaten.
