Proefnotitie
Robijnrood schittert de wijn in het glas en doet al bij het walsen verlangen naar de eerste slok. In de neus een aroma van rijpe kersen, ondersteund door kruidige hints, fijne tonen van rook, witte truffel en kreupelhout. In de mond ferm, direct, met mooi diep fruit (gedroogde vijg!) en fluweelzachte fijne tannine. De finale presenteert nog eens fruit en een frisse touch van de Stille Oceaan.

For a slightly reduced price, this appellation blend allows fans of this brand to check into the magic that Greg Brewer is up to. The floral nose is redolent of violet and scarlet roses as well as pomegranate and red currant. The palate zings with acidity, presenting bright and fresh flavors of raspberry, citrus rind and herb. Gorgeous kirsch and framboise fruits as well as spice and dried flower notes all emerge from the 2019 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills. It's a fresher, more elegant example from this great estate, with a solid spine of acidity, beautiful balance, and a great, great finish. It's brilliant today but will be even better with another year of bottle age and keep for at least 10-15 years in cold cellars.

De grote drie: pizza, hamburger, steak. Doet het ook goed bij streetfoodfavorieten zoals pulled pork.
Brewer-Clifton
Wijngoed Brewer-Clifton is in 1995 door Greg Brewer en Steve Clifton opgericht. Al in 2001 werd de wijn in Parkers grote Californië-rapport als 'grootste verrassing van de hele proeverij' bejubeld. Sinds 2012 komen de druiven uitsluitend van eigen wijnbergen die hooguit acht mijl verwijderd zijn van het wijngoed. In 2020 koos Wine Enthusiast Greg Brewer uit als 'Winemaker of the Year'.
De wijn
Het wijnhuis gebruikt uitsluitend neutrale vaten en fermenteert hele druiven met steeltjes, zodat gestructureerde, aardse en evenwichtige wijn ontstaat. Alle wijnen hebben een groot bewaarpotentieel, wat ook van toepassing is op deze pinot noir.
