Proefnotitie
Deze diepdonkere, robijnrode wijn onthult in de neus intense aroma’s van zwart fruit, peper en specerijen, aangevuld met rokerige, aardse en licht vlezige tonen. In de mond is hij krachtig, geconcentreerd en gestructureerd, met rijp fruit, markante maar fijne tannines en veel diepte. De afdronk is lang, precies en pakkend.

This shows intense power, yet it’s channeled and restrained and combines structure and layering with a subtle touch to the complex aromas that include dark berries, dark plums, cocoa, bark, earth, smoke and baking spices. It's full-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Driven and textural with a long, focused finish. Drink from 2030.

I suspect the wine of the vintage, the 2021 Côte Rôtie La Landonne delivers blackberries, smoked meats, and graphite in a medium to full-bodied, layered, and ultra-classic style. Made from 100% Syrah and aged 42 months in new French oak, it shows remarkable purity, polished tannins, and a brilliant, smoky character.

Immediately recognizable for its signature notes of bell pepper and stem-inflected nuances wrapped in aromas of tobacco, baked dark berries and spices, the 2021 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne is medium- to full-bodied, dense and structured, with a layered core of fruit built around its characteristically stem-derived tannins. The mid-palate is slightly softer than in 2020, a natural consequence of the vintage’s profile, yet the wine remains perfectly balanced and unmistakably faithful to its identity.

De wijn
De druiven zijn afkomstig van de individuele wijngaard La Landonne in Côte-Rôtie, met bodems van ijzerhoudende klei en leisteen. De wijn wordt gemaakt van 100 procent syrah. Na een selectieve handmatige oogst en een lange gisting op de schillen rijpt hij ongeveer 40 maanden in nieuwe Franse barriques. Dat geeft de wijn structuur, diepte en een uitzonderlijk lang leven.
