Proefnotitie
In deze grootse, moderne Toscaanse wijn komen cabernet sauvignon, merlot en petit verdot in perfecte harmonie samen. De paarsrood- tot violetkleurige ‘Giorgio Primo’ uit 2019 onthult aroma’s die doen denken aan cassis, kersen, bramen en bosbessen, aangevuld met tonen van munt, viooltjes en lavendel, grafiet, ceder en sandelhout, eik, vanille en een vleugje tabak. In de mond is dit een krachtige en tegelijkertijd elegante, intense wijn. Hij biedt diepte en een dichte structuur, fijnmazige tannines en frisse zuren. Een geweldige wijn die het resultaat is van de combinatie van het Toscaanse terroir en de druivensoorten uit Bordeaux.

Bright, royal ruby red. Compact nose, with intense aromas of cherries, truffles, black pepper, then rich notes of berries, gorgeous blackberries and cassis. Densely woven on the palate, with beautiful texture and punchy tannins, multi-layered, with mineral and stone notes, radiant and powerful, lingering and long, fabulous.

The beautiful 2019 Giorgio Primo is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Vintner Giampaolo Motta's inspiration is the great wines of Bordeaux, and his vision has never changed despite many passing trends. But perhaps his most important choice as a winemaker (born outside of Tuscany) is his firm commitment to Panzano in Chianti as the ideal home for the French grapes he cultivates. An exciting new Merlot is also in the works, so stay tuned. This is an etched and polished wine with dark fruit, spice, graphite and pencil shavings. The tannins are beautifully managed, and the wine is long and complex.

Extremely complex aromas of crushed currants, spices and sandalwood with some bark. Violets, too! Full-bodied with creamy, polished tannins and great intensity. Layered and beautiful. Better in 2024, but already beautiful to try.

De wijn
Deze wijn komt uit het Toscaanse terroir in Panzano, in het hart van de Chianti Classico. Hier werd echter geen sangiovese gebruikt, maar 55% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot en 5% petit verdot. Giampaolo Motta maakte de wijn door de druiven te ontstelen en vervolgens spontaan te vergisten. De Super Tuscan rijpte voor 100% in Franse barriques met een nieuw houtgehalte van 50%.
