Proefnotitie
De 'Wachenheimer Rechbächel' presenteert zich in een levendig, licht strogeel. De neus wordt gedomineerd door intense aroma's die doen denken aan zonovergoten citrusfruit, rijpe perziken en subtiele tonen van appel. In de mond ontdekken we een frisse, levendige zuurgraad die perfect harmonieert met de fruitige nuances. De minerale tonen zijn afkomstig van het diepe riviergesteente in de bodem, zij geven de wijn een opmerkelijke diepgang en aansprekende complexiteit. De afdronk houdt lang aan, met een sappige frisheid die de algehele impressie perfect afrondt.

Enveloping but subtle nose of ripe stone fruits. Still slightly yeasty, but it is very early days for this minor masterpiece of a Pfalz dry riesling. Stunning harmony, the salty and chalky character underlining this beautifully. From biodynamically grown grapes. Wild-fermented in large neutral oak. Vegan.

The 2022 Wachenheimer Rechbächel P.C. Monopole is remarkably subtle and at the same time intense on the nose that is pure, fresh and stony as well as herbal and seriously saline. Pure and vital as well as mineral on the palate, this is a transparent, sandstone-driven vin de terroir with firm but fine tannins intermingled with salts and phenolics. The finish is floral but also structured and still saline. This is a puristic long-distance runner that deserves our patience for a few years, after which you will be rewarded. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork.

The 2022 Riesling Wachenheim Rechbächel P.C. is a monopole vineyard dominated by Triassic sandstone on the cusp of the limestone. There is a slight reduction, followed by juicy apple, cream and citrus. The palate is compact, has fluidity, density and a lengthy, lemony, smooth mid-palate. This is gentle, rounded and smooth but shines with that lemony purity and bone-dry linearity.

De wijn
De riesling wordt gemaakt van druiven die afkomstig zijn uit de 3,12 hectare grote Wachenheimer topwijngaard Rechbächel. De wijngaard ligt op een helling met ligging naar het zuiden, waardoor de zon de rode en gele zandsteenkiezels optimaal kan verwarmen. Op een diepte van 1,80 meter bevindt zich een indrukwekkende dikke laag van 1,20 meter riviergesteente die de wortels uitstekend voorziet van water en mineralen.
