Proefnotitie
De frisse aroma's van citrusfruit en sappige groene appel maken van de witte wijn een belevenis en ook in de mond wordt de frisse indruk voortgezet. De fijne zuurstructuur zorgt voor een delicaat beperkt volume van de fruitige body bij deze riesling. Zo doet hij het goed bij vis- en mosselgerechten en past zowel bij een barbecue als een galadiner. Fantastisch.

Cool and delicate nose of star fruit, pineapple and mint. Still a little closed, but compact and elegant on the generous and well-structured palate, then comes the long chalky finish. Excellent potential. From biodynamically grown grapes. Mainly wild-fermented in large neutral oak casks. Vegan. Screw cap.

From downgraded premier crus and 80% vinified in large oak casks, the 2022 Wachenheim Riesling Trocken Village is clear and intense but also subtle on the distinctive nose and clearly characterized by the red sandstone soils. This Riesling trocken shows perfectly ripe, very noble and finely flinty fruit intermingled with laurel and celery aromas. Lush and refined on the palate, with lingering salinity and crystalline acidity, this is a very elegant, lush and balanced Wachenheimer with a fine and lively but rested character and a fine, saline finish. 12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in November 2023.

The 2022 Riesling Wachenheim Village is picked "all the way between the forest and the Weinstrasse" across Erste Lagen in Wachenheim, fermented half in large barrels and half in stainless steel. The nose blends flinty, reductive verve with apple juiciness before verging into lemony verve. The palate has the same juiciness, with a slight inflection of yeast on the plate, partly pithy, partly zesty, but very fresh. There's tension and creaminess simultaneously, bone-dry and properly mouth-watering. Lovely echo.

Gegrilde vis en zeevruchten – begeleidt ook uitstekend de verfijnde Aziatische keuken en zoetzure gerechten.
De wijn
De druiven voor de Wachenheim Riesling Village van Weingut Dr. Bürklin-Wolf komen uit gerenommeerde wijngaarden in Wachenheim in de Palts. Sinds 2005 heeft het wijnhuis zich toegelegd op de biologisch-dynamische wijnbouw. Dat betekent onder andere: natuurlijke hulpbronnen moeten gespaard worden en het samenwerken van aardse en kosmische krachten wordt volgens exacte criteria bevorderd. Het werk in de wijngaard is hierbij van groot belang: de bodem werd met compost en mineralen behandeld. Voor deze riesling werden daarom ook alleen volrijpe en gezonde druiven met de hand geoogst, daarna vond een behoedzame botteling plaats.
