Falstaff
Deep ruby in colour with purple reflections and a broad and bright ochre rim. On the nose, a multi-faceted bouquet of liquorice, blackberry, nougat and a touch of sea buckthorn and candied violets in the background. The palate is juicy, with pronounced tannins, fresh acidity and notes of ripe cherry, chocolate, and fine dried fruit nuances on the finish. The wine certainly has the potential for further ageing, needs time.

The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvee Des Felix is cut from the same cloth, although it's a bigger, richer, more tannic wine. Black cherries, saddle leather, Provençal herbs, and charcuterie-like notes all define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a supple, layered mouthfeel, plenty of tannins, and a great finish. It's another beautiful wine from this estate that tastes like liquid Provence.

De wijn
De vinificatie vindt plaats volgens traditionele methodes, gevolgd door een rijping van ongeveer 18 maanden in oude eiken vaten. Hierdoor krijgt de wijn een indrukwekkende structuur en een krachtige persoonlijkheid die er een prachtige smaakbelevenis van maken.
