The 2016 Veneroso is one of the most elegant wines I have tasted from Ghizzano. Bright, effusive aromatics lift a core of red Sangiovese fruit, all framed by nervous tannins that give the wine its shape. Sweet tobacco, dried leaves, mint, cedar and incense develop later, adding further shades of nuance. The purity of the flavors is simply striking. Magnificent.
Tenuta di Ghizzano
Tenuta di Ghizzano produceert uitsluitend biologisch en biodynamisch en bewerkt tegenwoordig ongevaar 280 hectare waarvan 18 voor wijnbouw bestemd zijn, 15 voor olijventeelt, 100 voor graan en de overige 150 voor het bos en de populierenlanen. Ghizzano is een klein bergdorpje dat zich bevindt in Terre di Pisa – niet ver van de Toscaanse kust, 40 km van Livorno en 40 km ten zuiden van Pisa.
