De 'Solosole' schittert heerlijk in glas: strogeel, gebroken door glinsterende groene reflecties. Het bouquet ontvangt de neus met intense bloemige tonen, aroma's van bergperzik en rijpe abrikozen en verrast met tropisch fruit zoals mango en papaja. In de mond is de vermentino sappig, met een medium body en een soepel wijnsteenzuur. De finale overtuigt met een pittige lengte.

The folks at Poggio al Tesoro really have nabbed a successful approach when it comes to the versatile Vermentino grape. The 2021 Bolgheri Vermentino Solosole opens to a luminous appearance and golden highlights. The bouquet produces nectarine, passion fruit, pomelo and a glossy or waxy element that adds a bit of the proverbial shine. It only sees stainless steel, and the grapes come from a vineyard planted just above the level of the sea.

Apricots, grapefruits, crushed stones and juniper berries. It’s creamy and medium- to full-bodied with juicy stone fruit and citrus. Lovely dry mineral notes to close.

The 2021 Vermentino Solosole is laced with hints of pear, spice, white flowers and mint. Stylistically, the 2021 offers lovely brightness and a touch less oiliness than in the past. There's plenty of depth buffered by bright saline notes that extend the finish.

De wijn
De druiven voor de Poggio al Tesoro Vermentino Bolgheri 'Solosole' 2020 werden gekweekt in de wijngaard Le Sondraie, op een westelijke helling in het Guyot-systeem. Nadat ze met de hand waren geplukt, werden ze voorzichtig geperst. De druiven vergistten ongeveer drie weken bij een gecontroleerde temperatuur van 16 °C. Vervolgens rijpte de wijn in roestvrijstalen tanks en op de fles.
